The 202-acre wind-driven fire raced into the Coronado Pointe community destroying 20 homes and damaging 11 others. Lawyer Richard Bridgford represents 70 homes in a lawsuit. He says the report obtained by KFI News through public records requests confirms their suspicions. “Video surveillance showed a shower of sparks igniting the fire beneath the equipment of SCE (Southern California Edison).” SoCal Edison says safety is the company’s top priority and the company is reviewing the report. Eleven additional homes were also damaged as the wind-driven fire rapidly raced into the community of Coronado Pointe. The report obtained by KFI News through public records requests confirms what lawyer Richard Bridgford says he already suspected ” An uspecified electrical event that occurred causing an electrical arc and sparks which caused the vegetation beneath the power poles to ignite.” He says he represents 70 families in that community who want those power lines put underground.
