Mountain Fire Litigation

On Wednesday, November 6, 2024, Mountain Fire broke out in Ventura County, California. The wildfire sparked in Somis near Balcom Canyon Road and Bradley Road just before 9 am.

The fire began as a brush fire in the unincorporated area of Somis and quickly spread to nearby areas. As of November 8, the fire is continuing to burn and covers more than 20,000 acres of land. CalFire reports show the blaze is currently 7% contained. At this point, nearly 12,000 structures are threatened, and reports show that there have been at least five civilian injuries and one firefighter injury.

Ventura Mountain Fire Attorney

Containment efforts have been challenging for fire crews due to the location of the fire. The terrain is steep and rugged with ample dry fuel and dry winds.

Ventura County Emergency reports that more than 2,500 personnel have been dedicated to the fire response fighting against Mountain Fire, including the Ventura County Fire Department, San Luis Obispo Fire Department, and a CalFire Incident Management Team.

Evacuation orders are in effect for several areas, as well as road closures, school closures, and water advisories.

However, the official cause of the fire is still under investigation while crews continue their efforts to knock down the blaze.
