Richard Bridgford recently made a $5,000 donation to University of California Irvine to the Chair of Endourology Fund as a result of his long-time friendship with Ralph V. Clayman, M.D., who joined UCI’ School of Medicine in 2002 as Chair and Professor of the Department of Urology as well as his ongoing commitment to researching this area of medicine. During his seven years as Chair, the UCI Medical Center’s Urology Program came to be ranked among the top 20 programs in the country by US News and World Report. In 2009, Dr. Clayman stepped down as Chair of Urology and became Dean of the School of Medicine. He recently returned to teaching and research.
“The research conducted at UCI’s School of Endourology is important for the future of urological care,” says Bridgford. “Dr. Clayman and his colleagues continue to be on the forefront of treating kidney stones and I am thrilled I can contribute to that effort.”
In May 2015, Bridgford continued his financial commitment to UCI through its School of Law. For the past five years, the firm has made an annual gift of $25,000 to fund the consumer attorney scholarships. Bridgford plays an active role on the School of Law’s Board of Visitor and was a sponsor of the 2015 Public Service Award Dinner that honored U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer.
“My friendship and respect for Dean Erwin Chemerinsky inspires me to continue the support of the school and advancement of the practice of consumer law,” says Bridgford.
